When I want to print a table, I keep getting a message: X Items for table X are not picked, table X is not printed!

The Default setting is that before you print / close a table all orderlines have to be picked, this is to make sure no items are forgotten.

If you want to override this go to the option screen and uncheck: "Complete pick before printing / closing table".
