The DigiWaiter PDA client help 

Add. october, 19 2009: please make sure the regional settings (date format dd/MM/yyyy or M/D/yyyy) match the server settings.
We noticed that when those two are different it seems like the server's not receiving any orders, the orders however could be found on other dates (orders for september, 1 were found on january 9)!

Main screen 

The client automatically receives the menu after connecting to the server this way you always know that the menu is up to date!

Click on the quantity node to increase the quantity, if you want to decrease it make sure the 'plus sign' on the bottom of the screen is depressed and
click the quantity once more.

Drag the slider beneath the menu to the left or rifht to select the table you are serving first.

If you want to add a note just press and hold your stylus on the item description!

If you want to send the order to the DigiWaiter server press the waiter button.

The menu in the bottom left corner gives access to:

• the registration screen
• outstanding orders
• a new order
• exit the applicaton. Since the application runs in kiosk mode (full screen) your employees aren't able to switch applications while running the DigiWaiter PDA clients. This will prevent them for instance from being tempted to use the PDA as MP3 player... to exit the application just type S in the textbox when asked for a password.
• (re)connect to the server

Outstanding orders screen

If you want to see which items a table has ordered (A) choose 'outstanding orders' from the menu. You cannot edit already ordered items on this screen (to do this you have to communicate this 'tete a tete' to make sure things are done right!).

You can send a print request to the server by clicking print at the bottom, beware  the server will check if the setting 'complete pick' is checked. If this is the case the server won't let you print a table for which not all items are picked (you can deselect this at the servers option screen).

After printing the server will ask you if it's ok to close the table you've just printed (usually you will close a table if the invoice is printed).

Communication screen

Communicate with the server from here (A), a chat request is accompanied by a sound signal.

Employee screen

Select an employee from the list, employees are maintained and send by the server.

Options screen 

Enter the IP address of the DigiWaiter server (the IP address of the pc you have the DigiWaiter server running on), port (has to be equal to the port used on the DigiWaiter server) and the number of tables you have.

Check your battery's status.

Registration screen 

After registration you receive a notification by e-mail, enter the same info you've used for registration in the textboxes.

Always make sure after sending an order you get a confirmation from the server!!!
